Default leaf spring inserts.

how hard is it to replace the leaf spring inserts for the middle leaf on 04 silverado 1500?

i would say it wouldnt be too hard..you would most likely have to unbolt the whole leaf spring and do it that way..just remember to make sure everything is lined up when u bolt it all back up

pull the springs off. put a c-clamp on both ends of the short spring to hold the whole spring pack together. remove center bolt/pin, slowly remove both c-clamps. spring pack should come apart then. use the c-clamps to reassemble the pack, put center bolt/pin back in, tighten down, remove clamps, install spring back on truck.

thanks. i was just out listening to the noise and it sounds like its coming from the upper shackle towards the bumper of the truck? i found on a different website that there was a tsb on the spring inserts. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/inde...howtopic=67963
